Who says that winter is boring? During the cold months of the year, the Gulf of Poets remains colorful and becomes PoP! Fortezza Firmafede – the beautiful fort in Sarzana – will host 200 works of art by Andy Warhol, from 24 November 2017 until 5 March 2018.
The exhibition takes you through the art evolution of the American artist between the fifties and the eighties. Silk-screen printings, rare drawings, polaroids, and photographic acetates were selected by the event’s curator, Matteo Bellenghi.
If you are visiting the Gulf of Poets this winter, make sure not to miss this contemporary art exhibition in Sarzana. Among the featured works of art are the iconic “Campbell’s Soup Cans”; “Vesuvius”, which is a homage to Italy; and the controversial “Ladies and Gentlemen” portraits.
