Portovenere was selected as one of the venues for the 2018 edition of Celebrity Fight Night in Italy. This prestigious fundraising event is organized by the Andrea Bocelli Foundation, and has reached its 5th Italian edition. It is the child-event of the American Celebrity Fight Night, recognized as one of the elite charity events in the United States. Throughout its 20+ years of history, CFN has given more than $84 million to many charities. The event involves celebrities and professional athletes from all over the world, who participate in a night filled with auction items and live musical performances.
Celebrity Fight Night in Italy takes place from 4 to 10 September 2018. The itinerary includes Florence, Verona and Portovenere. In particular, guests of CFN Italy will reach the gem in the Gulf of Poets on Thursday 6 September with a luxurious boat ride from Versilia. At the foot of St. Peter Church, they will enjoy dinner and entertainment by Maestro Andrea Bocelli.

The Andrea Bocelli Foundation was created in 2011 to help people in need due to illness, poverty and social exclusion by promoting and supporting Italian national and international projects. The goal is to overcome these barriers, giving people the possibility to express themselves and reach their full potential. The Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center, part of Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, is one of the most comprehensive Parkinson’s treatment centers in the world. The Center coordinates patient care, physical therapy, pharmaceutical and surgical care, research, and patient education and outreach. The collaboration between Bocelli and Muhammad Ali was prompted by their friendship and mutual esteem.
