Every year, a lovely Charity Bazaar takes place in the sea village of Lerici, the town of poets.
The market, which first started around 40 years ago, is organized by members of the International Women’s Club of La Spezia. The club’s members include a number of ladies from Lunigiana, a historical territory of Italy that today falls within the provinces of La Spezia and Massa Carrara.
This year, the Christmas Charity Bazaar will take place on 29 November 2015 from 10:00am to 06:00pm in the Comune di Lerici municipality building.
It is an excellent opportunity to find unusual Christmas gifts!
The event is run entirely by volunteers who encourage local businesses to donate items. The volunteers and friends also make many of the items themselves. Christmas hampers will be raffled and a choir will add a festive note. Drinks and snacks will be available.
This year, you can expect to find the following items on offer at the Charity Bazaar:
- Antiques, curios and small bric a brac
- Books in English, Italian, German and Dutch
- Cakes and pies
- Typical British Christmas items
- Christmas decorations
- Handmade crafts, including jewelry
- US food items
- Used toys
- Fabrics, including curtains both old and new
- Vintage clothing and costume jewelry.
Should you be traveling around Lerici on 29 November, make sure not to miss this event!
