After the success of last year’s edition, the prestigious Audi Tron Sailing Series returns to Portovenere.
The medieval sea village in the Gulf of Poets will host the first stage of the international circuit with the regattas of the Melges 32 (8-10 April) and Melges 20 (15-17 April), involving more than 500 sailors from around the world.
The Melges 32 and 20 are a one-design class of sailboats produced by the American company Melges Performance Sailboats. They are truly impressive, especially you can see them racing in spectacular landscapes such as the waters between Portovenere and Palmaria Island.

In the video, Chris Rast, who was crowned “2015 King of Poets” with Helmsman EFG Sailing Team, states:
At first I was a little bit skeptic to come to a place that is not necessarily known for sailing, but it was great to see the combination of the city, the people and the sailing. It is a great combination of activities to put together. […] I think it was great to come to such a historic venue like Portovenere.
