“Sunset Muscoli” is the food solidarity event organized by Grand Hotel Portovenere every summer. On this delicious occasion, you can taste the typical muscoli (mussels) from the Gulf Of Poets prepared in different ways by the chefs at Palmaria Restaurant, paired with the best local wines. Alternative versions also take place sometimes, allowing you to taste the prestigious oysters!
The event takes place on the panoramic terrace of Venus Bar, overlooking Portovenere’s harbor and Palmaria Island.
Some editions in the past years included live cooking shows on the panoramic terrace or on a wooden fishing boat called Moby Dick.
In conjunction with Sunset Muscoli, it is possible to buy some gadgets dedicated to the evening. All the proceeds are donated to the Associazione Per Il Mare, an association that carries out social and educational activities for the territory. Its projects raise awareness and knowledge about the marine environment by collaborating with entities like the Cinque Terre National Park, the Montemarcello Magra Vara Park and the Cooperativa Mitilicoltori Della Spezia (mussel farmers’ cooperative). The Association also collaborates with social cooperatives and non-profit organizations to carry out projects for children and young people with disabilities.
